Power bulbs in the stretch ceiling. Which fixtures are better for a stretch ceiling

Antipyretics for children are prescribed by a pediatrician. But there are situations of emergency care for fever, when the child needs to give the medicine immediately. Then the parents take responsibility and apply antipyretic drugs. What is allowed to give to infants? How can you bring down the temperature in older children? Which medications are the safest?

To illuminate rooms with stretch ceilings use hanging and spot lights (recessed and overhead), for decorative lighting of rooms, an LED strip is used. Choosing fixtures, the owners of apartments and cottages are interested, first of all, by the design of these electrical appliances. The specialist will say that when choosing fixtures, the types of lamps are crucial. For different interiors individually selected fixtures and lamps for them. The choice of lighting fixtures depends on the type of room and the tasks that the lighting fixtures will perform.

Selection of lamps for rooms with stretch ceilings

For rooms with stretch ceilings, only halogen and energy-saving (fluorescent and LED) lamps. Energy-saving lamps give an even bright light and do not overheat the ceiling cloth. LEDs consume less energy, less heat, wiring for these lighting devices takes up less space.

Energy-saving lamps (fluorescent and LED)

Unlike incandescent lamps, energy-saving lamps have high light output. Energy saving is achieved by the fact that at lower power they create intense, bright light. There are several dozens of types of fluorescent energy-saving lamps. They differ in size, design of the bulb, the parameters of the socles and the color of the created light flux (the light of these lamps can be day, warm, cold or neutral white). In the light spectrum of these lamps there is ultraviolet radiation, so they can not be placed closer than 30-35 cm from the eyes.

Luminous efficiency in   LED Light Bulbshigher than that of luminescent ones. They do not have tungsten filaments (like incandescent bulbs) and a fragile glass bulb (like fluorescent lamps). These lamps do not burn out from frequent on and off and create a comfortable, almost natural light for the eyes.

LED lamps last an order of magnitude longer than others. They begin to shine at full power right after switching on. A fluorescent light bulb to flare up completely, needs about 30 seconds.

In energy-saving lamps, the intensity of the glow changes in accordance with the frequency of the current in the network, which can cause discomfort in some people.

Halogen lamps

Halogen lamps belong to incandescent lamps. They can have different shapes, different plinths, different compactness and different designs. Bromine or iodine is added to their bottles.

Lamps have good color rendition and light output. These lighting devices do not burn out in case of voltage drops, they have high strength and long service life. At present, many kinds of halogen lamps with a small bulb are produced, which, in particular, allows them to be used in point-fitting interior lamps. Do not touch the flask with your hands, since fat particles on the fingertips, remaining on the quartz glass of the device, can lead to its burnout. You can touch the light bulb only with a clean cloth or a napkin.

Halogen lamps can also be used for luminaires on suspended ceilings, if their power is less than 35 W.

Lamps for lighting rooms have a different design. Consider the features of using lamps with different plinths.

Lamps with cap G5.3

Lamps with a G5.3 socket can be halogen and LED. Halogen lamps, produced a few years ago, have one drawback - their reflector is semi-transparent, so it passes light through the lamp (behind the stretch ceiling).

As a result, all the elements of technical structures are becoming discernible - wiring, fittings for lighting fixtures and fixtures. Five to ten years ago the problem was solved simply - the back part of the plafond was covered with foil or special refractory paint. Now there is no need for such an "improvement", since there are halogen bulbs on the market with a bulb covered in the end part with an opaque layer.

The downside of model G5.3 is that the bulb is located deep inside the plafond, from which the light comes out at an acute angle and does not dissipate at all.

Lamps with cap GX53

In the GX53 model, the bulb is not recessed inside, it protrudes from the plane of the structure. The height of the protruding part is 4-5 mm. The glow angle of such a lamp is as wide as possible, the light spreads almost 180 degrees. With the GX53 socle, LED and energy-saving lamps are produced.

Lamps with G9 socket

The main difference between the lamps with the G9 cap from the previous versions is that the bulb completely protrudes from the ceiling, resulting in the light being maximally diffused. By the efficiency of luminescence they surpass the model with the cap G5.3, but lagged behind the model with the GX53 cap.

Buying an LED light bulb, you should pay attention to the design of the device. A metal cooling grille must always be around the bottom. LED light bulbs do not heat up to a high temperature, but they still heat up, and this heat needs to be removed. Overheating of the device greatly reduces its service life. On average, such a lamp with a cooling grid works for three years, with a manufacturer's warranty of about one year.

Spotlights

Point (overhead and built-in) lamps are an integral part of modern residential space. Proper lighting can emphasize the beauty of the interior and hide its shortcomings. Technically correctly positioned lamps create a comfortable environment for the eyes.

Spot lights are best suited for additional illumination of large rooms, such as living rooms, bedrooms, children's rooms, dining rooms. As a basic lighting, they are good for small rooms - bathrooms, toilets, walk-in closets and corridors. In small rooms, point sources evenly distribute light throughout the entire ceiling area. This allows you to illuminate all parts of the room equally.

The electrical equipment needed to connect the lamps occupies a certain part of the house space. The size of the niche above the suspended ceilings depends on the type of luminaire. If the wiring is mounted under halogen or fluorescent lamps, the stretch ceiling is placed approximately 8-12 cm below the main one, for LED spotlights - by 6 cm.

Since the corridor and the hallway are part of the apartment or house, the understated ceiling will not catch sight. In spacious hallways, as a main lighting, you can install a small chandelier, and as an additional light source - built-in lamps.

If the room includes only spotlights, a calm, tranquil setting is created with a soft, subdued light. If the designer wants to emphasize the different levels of the stretch ceiling and decorate his protruding part, you should first select the chandelier, and under it select the spotlights.

Point lights can be turningand   non-rotating. Rotating plafonds are designed to direct light only on a certain area - a desk, a section of a kitchen table or on a wall, so that it's profitable to show its texture.

In terms of the degree of protection from moisture, these electrical appliances are divided into waterproof lamps   and fixtures for dry premises. Choosing moisture-protected electrical appliances is very important if they are to be installed in bathrooms, toilets and in basements.

In the market of lighting devices, hundreds of kinds of spotlights can be seen. They are made of a wide variety of materials - glass, gypsum, aluminum, crystal, plastic. The plafonds are decorated with stained glass overlays, rhinestones, carved wooden elements, metal tracery details. If, according to the designer's idea, the luminaire should be hidden or unobtrusive, you can choose the most minimalistic option (white lamp with the same white ring around).

The design of modern apartments and private houses differs a great variety - in their decoration you can find many styles, from loft and baroque to high-tech. A rich choice of point lighting does not limit the imagination of the designer and the customer.

Interesting and very beautiful crystal spotlights. They can scatter light, creating rays and patterns on the ceiling and walls. These electrical appliances are made in different styles. At fixtures in style modern the form of decorative elements geometrical, square or rectangular, in models of classical style it is possible to see the hanging details from glass or crystal. Models in the style of "floristics" combine combinations of glass leaves, buds and petals. Particularly beautiful crystal lamps with built-in edges or inside the LEDs.

The crystal lamp will not cast glare if a matt-coated lamp is inserted into it. For the same reason, it is not recommended to install fluorescent light sources. The ideal choice in this situation will be LEDs.

Chandeliers and hanging lamps

Chandeliers are designed to illuminate the entire room, but most of the world receives the center of the room. These electrical appliances can be of any size, only the size of the room and ceiling height limit the choice. The higher the ceiling, the greater freedom of choice the owner of the room has.

Suspended light fixtures   with a single plafond often installed in rooms with multi-level false ceilings. They are designed to illuminate a specific area in the room.

The chandelier can consist of one or more light fixtures, which are located at different distances from each other and at different heights. The choice of this lighting device depends on the style of the room and the tastes of its owner. In any case, a chandelier should install a professional who knows all the intricacies of mounting electrical appliances.

Chandeliers with several lamps can heat up to considerable temperatures. If the bubble temperature exceeds 60 degrees, the ceiling will turn yellow, darken, it may sag, and eventually lose its beautiful appearance. Depending on the lamps used, the distance from the chandelier ceiling to the ceiling must be at least 15-60 cm.

Energy-saving lamps and lamps with LEDs give the minimum temperatures when working. They are used in chandeliers located in close proximity to the ceiling, they are ideal for chandelier-plates.

The distance from the ceiling to the ceiling depends not only on the type of light sources used, but also on the orientation of the plafonds. If the ceiling lights are pointed upwards, the safety distance will be maximum.

For light decoration, LED strips are used, more rarely - lamps with special diffusers-nozzles. LED stripes are a flexible, transparent plastic strip, in which small spotlights are mounted. Thickness (3 mm) and width (1 cm) of the strip allows you to hide it by the design of the stretch ceiling, for example, behind the ceiling skirting.

Decorative lighting of this type has a number of advantages.

  1. Backlight, hidden behind the ceiling skirting board or decorative panels, gives completely diffused light.
  2. Hidden illumination does not affect the visual perception of the height of the room.
  3. LED tapes do not need to be somehow decorated.
  4. The installation is done so that air is constantly supplied to the light sources.
  5. Backlight can additionally reveal the advantages of the design of the room.

LED strips are mounted around the perimeter of the room or at a certain site according to the project. With the help of this lighting device, it is possible to create either light bands or separate luminous regions of geometric or arbitrary shape.

The color of light sources can be very diverse. Such lighting fixtures are fireproof and easy to install.

The ceiling fabric acts as a plafond for an LED strip hidden in the cornice along the perimeter. Decorative light is obtained smooth, matte, and the points of the LEDs on the tape are not visible behind the cornice.

The flexible plastic base of the LED strip is a board and conductor of electricity. To work on the device is supplied a current of 12-24 V. Power from the network is carried out through the converter unit. If the design allows you to adjust the voltage, then the controller is used. Control voltage in the LED strip can be and with a special remote control. The tape is easily glued to the low-fat metal ceiling structures (it is enough to remove the protective film from the adhesive layer).

Decorative lighting «Starry sky»

For decorative lighting in the style of "Starry Sky" also used LED lights. To obtain a picture on the ceiling, it is necessary to arrange the LEDs in a certain way (either arbitrarily or in the form of constellations).

Stretch ceiling "Starry Sky"

LEDs are mounted on a rigid frame and connected to each other. Then the wires are output to the control panel. Small bulbs are output through the ceiling material. From the control panel, you can change the brightness of the "stars". The effect of the "starry sky" is also created by projecting slides on the ceiling and using a glass lens Swarovski.

Video - Which fixtures are better for a stretch ceiling and why

Stretch flow is not only a beautiful flat surface, attractive appearance and easy-to-care surface. It's still a great opportunity to take advantage of the built-in lighting! Therefore, the choice of luminaires for tension ceilings should be done with knowledge of all the subtleties of this case. Allow yourself to dream up what kind of ceiling lighting you would like to see in your ceiling, and then you will only have to find the ideal materials for the realization of the idea.

LED lamps for stretch ceilings

LEDs are becoming more popular and more popular these days. The fact is that these lamps, despite the considerable price, possess all the qualities that the buyer would like to see in the ceiling lighting. It is necessary to note the special importance of the LED lamp for stretch PVC-ceilings.

Why for suspended ceilings is most often chosen diode lighting:

  1. The fact is that this tender material can not coexist with a lamp that has a high temperature during operation. In this situation, the LED lamp will be the salvation.
  2. The hue of light that is emitted by the LED is very pleasing to the eye. It will not take very many fixtures to fully illuminate the room.
  3. LED lamps are known for their durability. Quality models can last up to 10 years!
  4. LED lighting can be incredibly beautiful. Spot lights with LEDs can change the color of the glow, and tapes and screens can create a natural light on your ceiling.

In a stretch ceiling, an LED light is what you need.

Halogen lamps for stretch ceilings

Halogen lamps are not very good for your stretch ceiling, if it is made of PVC. But for the fabric halogens can fit well. The problem with halogen lamps is that they heat up very much during operation. This can melt PVC, which will cause problems not only with the appearance of the ceiling, but can also harm your health.

The halogen lamp will come off if:

  1. You are going to equip the ceiling chandelier with lighting, not point lighting. If halogen lamps are located far from the ceiling surface, they will not harm the canvas.
  2. The fabric ceiling can withstand the heat from halogen lamps, and the thermal rings will save your ceiling from changing color.
  3. Halogen lamps can not be damaged if the spot is located on the hinge away from the ceiling surface.

Halogen lamps are inexpensive, beautiful and even durable. However, due to their heating, they should not be installed close to the surface of the PVC.

Types of lamps for stretch ceilings

The ability to install inline lighting in the stretch ceiling raises the question of which lamps are best used for this purpose.

There are several answers to this question:

  • A light bulb is an obvious solution, which is not very good for a stretch ceiling. The fact is that the huge heating of these lamps can distort the shape of the ceiling, as well as change their color. Therefore, it is better to refrain from using incandescent lamps with a stretch ceiling.
  • With halogen lamps, too, everything is not so smooth. Its heating is almost the same as that of an incandescent lamp, but still it will work if your lighting does not come in contact with the ceiling directly. In addition, halogen is much more durable, if you comply with the rules of its operation.
  • The fluorescent lamp has a relatively low heat, which makes it possible to use it for the fabric ceiling without hindrance. However, its problem may be that it does not withstand problems with voltage drops and even with a drop in air temperature. However, the pleasant color of the glow and the durability attract many.
  • Despite the impressive price policy for LEDs, you can find the best friends in diode lamps for your PVC ceiling coverings! In addition, a low energy turnover will allow you to forget about fabulous electricity bills.

Do not risk for the sake of an imaginary benefit and put the lamps that are not designed for your ceiling. The real benefit lies in the belief that the ceiling will retain its original appearance, and the lighting will be of high quality and inexpensive.

Lamps in the suspended ceiling: fluorescent light bulbs

The operating temperature of the fluorescent lamp makes it possible to use it for any type of ceiling. However, it is still necessary to observe precautions: circle the lamps with thermo rings to be sure of the safety of your floor.

Fluorescent lamps have a number of disadvantages:

  • At low temperature, the fluorescent lamp will not light up. Low for it is considered a mark of 10 o C.
  • The fluorescent lamp does not fail at a time. It slowly begins to lose the intensity of the emitted light.
  • A surge in voltage, even a slight decrease, may cause the lamp to stop working.

In general, if you do not pay attention to these shortcomings, fluorescent lamps can do a good job for a stretch ceiling.

We install point lights for stretch ceilings

Installing a lamp when replacing it or installing it first may seem like a challenge. Let's look at how to properly insert the lamps into the stretch ceiling.

How to insert a spotlight correctly:

  1. First, make sure that the luminaire you are about to insert works, so that there will not be any disappointments after the vain labor.
  2. Turn off the electricity in the room, and better - in the entire apartment.
  3. Remove the wiring from the hole for the luminaire and connect the wires.
  4. Install the insulation on the joint
  5. Start a new lamp in the hole, carefully holding the clothespins along the edges of the lamp. Screw the luminaire to the box using special screws.

Replace or insert the lamp into the stretch ceiling is not difficult!

Stretch ceiling: design of light bulbs

Design lamps are the most diverse! This distinguishes ceiling spotlights from any other species.

The main design parameters of spotlights.

  • Overhead or cut-out. Cut-out fixtures are inside the ceiling, and the overhead lightly protrude under it. The latter have a large potential for luminescence, and the former look more accurate.
  • Rotary lamps are equipped with a hinge, due to which they can change the direction of the glow, and the fixed ones are built into the ceiling in the static state.
  • Lamps with shades may have diffuse light. Without a plafond, the lamp shines in a directional manner.

The choice of a lamp design is not easy, but pleasant work! Choose with pleasure.

How to choose light bulbs for stretch ceilings (video)

Different types of lamps allow you to choose the most optimal option for ceiling lighting. The lamp's power, its energy saving, glow temperature and other parameters distinguish the lamps from each other, allowing them to have a choice.

Any room will look incomplete and uncomfortable if you do not make a beautiful ceiling. Modern ceiling structures allow realizing any ideas of designers. One of the most popular types of decoration today are stretch ceilings. They have many advantages, among them - an excellent appearance.

Stretch ceilings allow you to apply different types of lighting and even combine them with each other. In addition to the usual hook chandeliers, other types of luminaires can be installed on the ceiling structures, including spotlights (read also: ""). Nevertheless, not all lighting fixtures are suitable for stretch ceilings. Particular attention should be paid to the bulbs. You can install only low-power bulbs in the stretch ceiling, so that there is no overheating of the blade.

Since such designs are most often installed spotlights, you should understand their types and features of use. Currently, there are four types of spotlights. They can work with incandescent lamps, halogen, energy-saving and. How to look different types of light bulbs, you can see the photo.

  Incandescent lamps

Fixtures in which incandescent lamps are used are distinguished by their low price and easy replacement. Often used lamp minion, mirror E-14. Its power is 40-60 watts. In order to achieve medium illumination, for every 2-3 "squares" of the surface there must be one light bulb. If necessary, such a light bulb for a stretch ceiling can easily be changed.

The advantages of incandescent lamps include:

  • low price compared to other species;
  • easy replacement - they can be unscrewed and put a new one.

The disadvantages of incandescent lamps are:

  • power limitations - no more than 40 W (in some cases - 60 W), but if you install a more powerful lamp, then the canvas can be deformed due to overheating;
  • the armature has considerable dimensions, therefore it is necessary to allocate 8-10 centimeters to lower the tension ceiling.

The main reason for their choice is low cost.

  Halogen lamps

Halogen lamps are an excellent choice for stretch ceilings. They have many advantages over other types. Long life bulbs advantageously distinguishes them from other types of luminaires for stretch ceilings. This is especially evident when comparing halogen lamps with incandescent lamps.

Advantages of halogen lamps:

  • beautiful lighting of the ceiling structure (thanks to its own saturated light, halogen built-in light bulbs in the stretch ceiling can create colorful effects);
  • possibility to arrange illumination at any desired angle;
  • wide choice of colors and shapes of lamps;
  • maximum brightness of lighting immediately after switching on the lamps;
  • long service life.

The disadvantages of halogen lamps include:

  • directed glow;
  • radiation of light of one type - warm yellow;
  • the ceiling is lowered by at least 7 centimeters (in halogen rooms it is not recommended to install halogen lamps).

  Energy-saving lamps

Energy-saving light bulbs are very popular. Their main advantage is the weak allocation of heat, which allows you not to worry about overheating of the stretch ceiling. They are also very economical - their energy consumption is minimal.

Energy-saving light bulbs for tension ceilings have the following advantages:

  • compliance with European standards;
  • insignificant allocation of heat, because of which overheating of the canvas becomes impossible (for comparison, incandescent lamps secrete it several times more);
  • economical consumption of electricity;
  • absence of lighting behind the ceiling (other types of lamps have this effect);
  • there is no need to reduce the height of the structure, since the size of the luminaires is only 2 centimeters. But this height is still necessary for the installation of the canvas itself, since the baguette, attached to the wall and necessary for ceiling mounting, has a size of 2.7 centimeters.

The disadvantages of energy-saving lamps include:

  • lack of choice;
  • high price;
  • at full capacity they do not turn on right away - this will take time;
  • simple appearance and only a few variants of the coloring of the rim.

With energy-saving lamps, it should be taken into account that the switch should not have an LED. Otherwise, you can observe the flickering of the bulbs when they are off. Quite often it is believed that this effect arises from the lack of grounding or phase penetration to zero, but these judgments are incorrect. The reason for this phenomenon is that the switch has an LED.

  LED lamp

Install the LED light bulbs in a stretch ceiling experts recommend in those rooms that can not boast of a large area. They look good in the interior of any room, kitchen or bathroom. Popularity is explained by their numerous advantages: minimal electricity consumption, durability, ease of installation and maintenance, high quality. Built-in LEDs are easily installed in the stretch ceiling, they are accurate and low-visibility. Plus, stable and even lighting makes it possible to create ideal conditions for both work and leisure.

Advantages of LED lamps:

  • long service life - more than 100 thousand hours of continuous operation, which is a hundred times more than the time of operation of conventional incandescent lamps;
  • natural spectrum of illumination;
  • the possibility of adjusting the contrast and direction of light, greater clarity of the illuminated area; with their help you can illuminate exactly the area of the room that you need;
  • lED light bulbs for stretch ceilings are economical. consume 70% less electricity. Also, the savings are in the absence of large costs associated with the replacement of lamps. Since they serve for a long time, frequent replacement is not required.

As for the shortcomings of LED light bulbs, it can be attributed only a considerable amount of heat and a fairly high cost.

Stretch ceilings with light bulbs have their own characteristics. First of all, one should pay attention to their power. So, incandescent lamps should have this parameter not more than 40-60 W, and halogen bulbs - 30-35 W. The use of more powerful light sources leads to the fact that the housing of the luminaires is very hot, and this does not have the best effect on the stretch ceiling.

When installing lighting at the level of the ceiling structure, in the future place put the holder, which is attached to the ceiling. The design features of the base holders depend on the sizes and types of bulbs.

Currently, the choice is not limited to one incandescent lamps. The possibility of using several types of luminaires allows you to experiment with lighting, emphasizing the beauty of not only the ceiling, but also the entire interior of the room.

During the repair of the hallway, a question arose about the choice of ceiling luminaires. The view of the ceiling did not have to be chosen, since I had experience in working with a stretch ceiling. A suspended ceiling made of PVC film was chosen. I had to think which lamp to install on the ceiling. I wanted to have modern beautiful lamps, and at the same time I did not want to part with the homemade chandelier and sconces that hung in the hallway.

The choice was made. The chandelier and the sconce were left hanging on the ceiling in the hallway, but I decided to buy spot lights in the corridor, as a single-lamp hung on the wall. Before installing the suspended ceiling, it is necessary to stretch the wires. To do this, you need to draw a drawing of the electrical circuit, which includes the number of lamps, the type of bulbs, their power.

To date, 4 types of lamps have been widely used:

  • Incineration;
  • LED Light;
  • Halogen;
  • Compact (energy-saving).

Each type has both positive and negative sides. In addition, when choosing lamps, their parameters, such as the distance between the fixed and suspended ceiling, should be taken into account. On the table below you can find out the characteristics of the lamps, choose the necessary for your ceiling.

Table for choosing the type of bulbs for ceiling fixtures embedded in a suspended ceiling
Technical specifications Lamp Type
Incandescence Halogen Energy-saving LED Light
The minimum distance between the main and suspended ceilings *, cm 10-12 5-6 10-12 5-6
Supply voltage, V 220 12, 220 220 12, 220
Luminous flux *, Lm / W 10-15 15-20 50-70 80-120
Maximum power *, W 40 40 40 7
Color temperature, ° K 2700 3000 2700, 3300, 4200, 5100, 6400 2700, 3300, 4200, 5100
Service life *, hour 1000 4000 8000 70000
Price Very Low Low Average High

Technical characteristics may differ from the data in the table. It depends on the type of lamp, the design, the type of ceiling. For example, there are ceilings that are afraid of heating more than 60 degrees. This limits the choice of the luminaire.

Halogen lamps are afraid of voltage drops, so they often burn out. They are rated for both 12 V and 220 V. Lamps operating at 12 V require a step-down transformer, power supply. Therefore, when installing such lamps, do not forget about the space in the wall or ceiling for its installation.

Calculation of power and number of fixtures

When choosing the power of the luminaire, it is necessary to take into account the size of the room, the color of the furniture. Select the lamp should be based on their taste. Using the table, you can find out what kind of power luminaires are needed. Calculations were made based on the values of the light flux, such as a lamp.

Table for calculating the power and number of fixtures, depending on the type of room
Type of premises Power required for lighting 1m 2 of the room area
   depending on the type of lamp
Incandescence Halogen Energy saving LED Light
Children's 40 30 10 5
Kitchen 30 25 7 4
Living room, bathroom, bathroom 25 20 6 3
Bedroom, hallway, corridor 20 15 5 2
Utility rooms 10 7 2 1

In the corridor, the installation of point lights was planned. Here are the calculations that were made.

The corridor looks like the letter T. The plot area is 4.5 m 2, 2.8 m 2. The total area is 7.3 m 2. The required power of luminaires should be 15.6 W (7.3? 2). The height of ceilings in the room is 2.75 m. The walls were to be painted in cream-brule color. Since the corridor has a complex shape, it is necessary to install 4 lamps, whose lamps will have power with a margin of 5, W. Power 220 V, pin socket GU5.3. Such a socle is popular because of the small size, which allows to install at low altitude inter-ceiling space.

The walls of the corridor were decorated with paintings that were planned to be left after the repair. Based on this, I chose white lamps with a color temperature of 4000 K. If you want to achieve a warm light, lamps with a color temperature of 2700 K are suitable for you. Notice that the lighting of the room does not always have to consist of ceiling lamps. It is better to reduce the power of the luminaires and place a pair of wall lights on the wall.

If there is local lighting, then the ceiling can be illuminated with LED strip. Everything is limited by your imagination.

Wire selection for spotlights

To power 4 lamps, any wire with double insulation will work. It is better to choose a copper double connecting wire having many cores. For example, PVS 2 * 0.75. The cross section will not play a big role, since the current will not exceed 0.1 A. If 12 V halogen lamps are used, then the cross section of the wires must be calculated. One lamp, having a power of 60 W, consumes a current of 5 A.

Selection and design of a recessed ceiling light fitting

On the shelves you can find a lot of lamps. But they all have the same design and differ only in appearance. Some models have the function of changing the direction of the light flux.

Since I need to illuminate the corridor, the simplest fixtures with a socle cartridge were chosen.

Each luminaire has a body that looks like a figured ring, and a pad with springs attached to the ears. The type and power of the lamp depends on its shape, as well as the presence or absence of a cartridge (usually E14).

A separate niche is occupied by lamps, the LEDs of which are placed on a printed circuit board.

If it fails, the bulb can not be replaced. It is necessary or to change the whole lamp, or to look for LEDs. Yes, and its price is not too small. Lamps that do not have a cartridge, press the lamp with a spring, in the form of a cut ring.

The lamp is inserted due to the fact that the ring is unclamped and enters the groove located in the body. This lamp is suitable for both LED lamps and halogen lamps. Just do not forget about the supply voltage, which can withstand fixtures. To fix the lamp in the ceiling, it is necessary to make a hole in the location of the fixture, which will be slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the flange of the housing.

The ears of the springs must be diluted to such an extent that they pass into the hole made. Then they can be let go. Leaning against the ceiling, they press the lamp against the flange to the stop, which allows you to fix the lamp.

After securing the luminaire in the ceiling, pass the wire and connect the chuck with the terminal block. The cartridge must be put on the socle, insert the lamp into the housing of the fixture and open the spring, fix it.

Electrical wiring diagram for point-to-ceiling light fixtures

Before installing the ceiling, attention should be paid to choosing the type of lamps, the number of lamps, the meter of their location, the choice of power. To do this, you need to develop an electrical circuit. During its development, the method of fixing the wires to each other and the points at which these wires are connected are taken into account.

Since the wire from the wall on which the lamp was located, they will be used for the installation of ceiling lamps. Since there will be no access to the wires after the tension ceiling has been installed, they must be secured in a reliable way. I stopped on the twist with soldering lead-tin solder. These points are marked on the diagram.

If you plan to place these lamps in the room where the computer or TV is located, you need to take into account that the angle of incidence of the beam on the surface is equated with the angle of reflection. Consequently, such fixtures can not be placed above the technique, as there will be a gleam from the monitor. Before planning the lamp it is necessary to take into account the arrangement of furniture and appliances in the room.

If the lamps are powered from 220 V, no additional equipment is required, but if they need 12 V, it should be noted that the source of power of these lamps needs to be made a place that will have free access for maintenance.

Installation of wiring for connecting ceiling light fixtures

After buying all the necessary fixtures and wires, you can start working.

Wiring can be installed at any stage of repair work. Even before installing the stretch ceiling. During the repair of the walls, the light was dim. I had to connect the temporary cartridges into which the energy-saving lamps were screwed.

Before mounting the wires, select and designate the location of the fixtures. In the photo are marked with circles. To exclude the sagging of wires, fasten them with an interval of 40 - 50 cm.

To fix the wires, you can use the dowel - clamps (left photo) or nail clamps (right), having different sizes. If the installation will be done by a dowel - clamp, drill a hole in the wall, put on the clamp and hammer the dowel into the wall. To fix the wire with a nail clip, press the wire against the wall and hammer the studs. This installation is suitable for fixing the wire to plaster, wood, plastic.

Nail clamps are bad because the nail can fall out and the wire will lie on the ceiling. This fastening was immediately thrown aside. Khomutov was not at home. Therefore, I applied the easiest method, which is based on fixing the wire to the wall with a hose clamp made of chlorovinyl tubing. To do this, a hole must be drilled in the ceiling, and the plug must be clogged. The tube is wrapped around the wire and screwed with any self-tapping screw.

Fabrication of wiring harness for ceiling light fixtures

After installing the ceiling, access to the wiring will be limited. Therefore, the connection of wires between each other must be done qualitatively. Most often, the wires are connected with a terminal block, say "Wago". However, the most reliable method is soldering. I applied it.

To minimize the work under the ceiling, the tourniquet was made in advance. It will only remain attached to the ceiling and connected to the main wiring. To find out the length of the wires, it is necessary to make measurements between the fixing points of the luminaires. The results of the measurements were made in the electrical circuit, which was wiring.

The harness was made of stranded wires with double insulation. She lived in such a wire covered with polyvinylchloride, wrapped in a thread. To make it convenient to work, the wires were twisted into a pigtail.

First of all, the insulation was removed from the wires, which enabled the wires to be irradiated with solder. The second section of the corridor implies the branching of the wires, so they were twisted and disappeared. To increase the reliability of insulation, the soldering points are shifted relative to each other.

On the places of soldering are dressed tubules, which prevent closure. To exclude their movement on the wires, they should be fixed with cambriches. It was possible to insulate the soldering points with a tape for insulation. So as not to spoil the wires, the kembriki was marked with a marker. Part of the wire was located under the plaster. In this place was a PVC tube.

The harness was attached to the ceiling. It's time to connect the wires to the main wiring. For this, the wires coming out of the wall were cut with a shift. Since the wire is quite old, the wires are rough. To avoid damaging them, the insulation was removed thermally, namely by a soldering iron. The veins were protected, irradiated, and insulating tubes were further dressed.

Pipes are needed in order to protect a person from a short circuit. Wires can not by themselves touch one another.

The place in which the connection was made is fixed to the ceiling using a screw. Everything, the wiring is complete.

Temporary cartridges are connected by terminal blocks, lamps are screwed in, it is possible to repair the room.

Installation of a ceiling LED light fixture on a stretch ceiling of PVC

The above described technology is suitable for installing luminaires on a rigid structure, for example, plasterboard or a rack ceiling. If the installation of the luminaire is made directly on the PVC ceiling, it is necessary to provide fixing points under the fixtures, otherwise the ceiling will hang under their weight.

For such purposes, the market is selling special equipment. In the photo you can see the ramp, that is, the fixture for the fixture. The platform is made in the form of a cone, on the surface of which there are steps.
