It is very easy to take care of the surface. The polymer is easily cleaned with ordinary household detergents. I several times used a special mop for washing windows on a long handle. And I did not have to climb the top.
The ceiling made of plastic panels allows you to hide any number of engineering communications. At me under it have been laid not only electric wires and fixtures, but also air channels with fans.

Personally, I prefer to use plastic ceilings paired with similar ones. In this case, the finishing work is more effective, and the design of the room looks more organic.

But if you are a esthete and refined nature, I will tell you about a more aesthetic version of the design of the false ceiling - racks.

Method 3 -Aluminum slats

This type of ceiling is called reechnogo. Its name, as you already understood, he got from the narrow long details that are mounted on the crate. I worked only with aluminum slats, although there are varieties of other types of metal and plastic on sale.

Aluminum I always chose because of its exceptional performance. This metal is not subject to corrosion, it is not adversely affected by water. And the details themselves have a very attractive appearance without any additional decorative finishing.

Although if you want diversity, modern manufacturers can give you it. In the shops you can find the following options:

• chrome parts;
• gold plated panels;
• monochrome products;
• lath ceilings with a picture.

Parts have a certain flexibility, so you can do curvilinear designs that diversify the design of the bathroom.

As for the installation, then there's nothing to say. Everything you need is included, so if you ever collected a children's designer, and there will not be any problems here. You just need to get acquainted with the instructions and get down to business.

I will also mention the shortcomings. Personally, I singled out two points:

1. If you buy racks, which need to be installed tightly to each other, dirt can accumulate in the seams between them. Naturally, you can remove it by simple cleaning.
2. Using a lath ceiling requires a special interior styling. And not for all bathroom shelves this solution is suitable. We need to plan ahead, which was not done in our colonel case.

One more thing. Suspended rack structure takes a certain height of the walls. On the one hand, it's good, so you can hide engineering communications. But on the other hand, if your walls are not three meters high, you will have to put up with a ceiling overhanging the ceiling, which not everyone likes.

To get rid of this lack, I recommend installing glossy slats with a reflective surface that visually increases the space.

Since we are talking about hanging constructions, I will go on to describe the drywall. The uniqueness of this option is that it can be decorated with different decorative materials.

Method 4 - Drywall

As in the case of plastic panels, plasterboard sheets are attached to a pre-designed crate. It can be made of galvanized profile or wood. The latter option I do not recommend to use, because the wood will quickly become unusable because of the high humidity of the air (or you have to think how to protect it with special impregnations).

The frame is covered with plasterboard sheets. Immediately mentioned that you need to choose a moisture-resistant material that does not collapse under the influence of water vapor and is additionally treated with antiseptics. The latter prevent the development of mold, fungi and other harmful microorganisms.

Visually moisture-resistant plasterboard differs in color. The cardboard in this material is painted green and its surface is marked with GKLV.

With the help of GKL it is easy to make a unique and unique ceiling in the bathroom. I often designed multi-level designs with any curvature.	The cost of implementing such a solution is quite high. And you have to buy materials, and pay an experienced master who can create a masterpiece you have drawn.
Under the crate can hide any reasonable amount of engineering communications. The very same lights and suction ventilation holes look organically on the surface of the ceiling, without spoiling the design of the bathroom.	Drywall requires additional decorative finishing. To do this, you need and puttying, and a primer, and paint. Not to mention the time you spend on the work.
Such a design is able to correct any curvature and defects of the interfloor overlap.	The paint and varnish covering of the ceiling will have to be updated from time to time, as it quickly dims from operation in a room with high humidity.
The ceiling of gypsum board has a long service life.

If the slats are expensive for you, and I do not want to bother with plasterboard, I offer one more suspension structure. This time, the decorative ceiling tile will be suspended. It will be discussed further.

Method 5 - Suspended tiles

Here, which for you, I think, is no longer surprising, too, using a special hanging design, similar to the one that has to be designed for the drywall ceiling. However, finished cells or cassettes are suspended on it.

If to compare with GKL, this material does not require decorative finishing, and, therefore, priming, staining and so on. Personally for me, it's just a huge plus.

By the way, tiles can be made of different materials:

• organic glass;
• metal;
• plastic;
• mineral plates.

I mounted once the plates with built-in lighting. It turned out just a breathtaking bathroom, which looked like a fantastic cave or compartment of a spaceship (someone like a fantasy works).

The drawbacks of the described solution can be attributed to the fact that not always cassettes or cells fit into the design of the bathroom or your home as a whole. Often such a ceiling is placed in office or commercial buildings, so you and the house may have a similar association, which for me personally is not good.

On the other hand, if you design a house in high-tech style, the metal tiles on the ceiling will fit perfectly.

Method 6 - Mirrors

I've talked a lot about reflective materials on the ceiling. And now I'll tell you about the best of these solutions - mirrors. If you decide to use them in a plumbing room, it will turn out just smart. Although the money will have to spend a lot.

So, the mirrors weigh a lot, because they can be installed on a reinforced frame of a metal profile. Mirror plates are fastened to the crate by means of screws, under which it is necessary to drill holes (and, believe me, this is not so simple as it seems).

You can, of course, cheat and put the ceiling "mirror type." These are special panels that have a surface that reflects light well. They are mounted on their own suspension system, and it can be done quickly and easily.

An example of such a solution can be called the products of Armstrong, located in St. Petersburg. But I think that in any city there are proposals of such systems. Immediately I will warn that the skeleton of inexpensive systems can be prone to corrosion, therefore it is necessary to organize effective airing.

The use of mirror ceilings has several drawbacks, which I did not fail to mention in my conversation with the colonel:

1. This ceiling is a source of too intense shine, which may not like. Especially if it is located too low or have to stay in the bathroom for a long time.
2. The mirror surface, so that it looks impressive, will often have to be washed. And if with a vertical conventional mirror this process is quite simple, then there can be very great difficulties with the ceiling. Therefore, it is necessary to agree in advance such a project with its second half.

Method 7 - Stretch

This option I left last, because it was chosen by my friend - a police officer. And I completely agree with him, because such a design has many advantages:

• perfectly tolerates the impact of moist air, without changing its appearance and technical characteristics;
• does not require additional decorative finishing after installation;
• the stretch cloth can hide any amount of engineering communications laid under the ceiling;
• it is well cleaned and cleaned using ordinary household detergents;
• has many design options (can be monophonic, with a pattern, with three-dimensional photo printing, matte, glossy, textured, and so on).

Another important plus is the ability to withstand a large amount of water leaking from the top floor. If you happen to have such a nuisance, all the liquid will be delayed by the ceiling. After the experts will salt it, and the decorative material will restore its size.

I personally can only name two shortcomings that prevent the choice of this option:

1. The ceiling is not likely to be installed by yourself. At least because it requires special equipment and materials.
2. Canvas can be easily pierced by any object. This will not only worsen its appearance, but also make it impossible to retain the spilled water.

I will point out one more feature. If you buy a white ceiling and put spotlights in it, be prepared for the fact that the polymer web can become yellow at this site because of the high temperature. To avoid this, put the LED lights.

As I already mentioned, my client and interlocutor made his choice. For you, I have prepared some tips that may help you in the difficult decision-making process about which ceiling to use in the bathroom:

1. It is necessary to choose such an option, which would be combined with the design of the bathroom and home as a whole. Optimal option - white. You can make such a ceiling stretch, plasterboard or from tiles. In this case, the problem of lighting is easily solved (it is necessary to put spotlights).

1. Textured ceilings help visually increase or decrease the size of the sanitary facilities. In this case, I advise modular or rack ceilings. They are clearly visible on the texture of individual elements.

1. If you happen to be the owner of a spacious bathroom, you can swing a multi-level ceiling. It is made, as you already know, from plasterboard. Especially effective are solutions where geometric shapes on the ceiling are combined with the appearance of plumbing fixtures.

1. In the case where the aesthetic component for you is not a priority, and the practicality comes to the fore, install a ceiling made of plastic panels. For this purpose, it is ideal.

Of course, it's even better to stretch, but you'll have to pay extra money to the installers for their work. So decide for yourself.
